New Avalanche Third Jersey Announced

Get it while it’s hot! According to icethetics.co, a website specializing in hockey jerseys and logo news (yes, apparently there is a whole website for such news), they leaked the new alternate jersey design that has yet to be officially debuted by the NHL. The new design for the Colorado Avalanche’s third jersey will look like this:

It features a new Colorado logo on the front in a nod to the throwback jersey of the Colorado Rockies, and has will have a Colorado flag on the shoulder. This will replace the blue third jersey that debuted in 2009 with the vertical lettering that was used in the previous 2001 alternate design.

Whether I love it or hate it is still yet to TBD. It took me until only last season to officially embrace the now old design. But one thing is for sure, with the change in the C logo on the shoulder in replacement of the foot, we can finally stop being harassed by non-Avs’ fan with obnoxious comments like “what’s that supposed to be on your shoulder?” To those of you not in the know, it is a yeti, sasquatch, bigfoot or any other name you might have for a large mythical creature that lives in the mountains. And let this be the time to give a shout out to our once mascot Howler.
